Volvo Cars selects HCL Tech for IT services, digital transformation

HCL Technologies recently announced that the company been selected as the supplier for the digital transformation and IT services for the Volvo Cars.

HCL will help Volvo Cars in its large-scale transformation program, which includes the organization-wide technology shifts to help Volvo Cars capitalize on new opportunities and improve some of the new internal business processes and customer experiences, says the announcement.

The collaboration includes several aspects of the digital transformation, which includes the DevOps, product orientation, and application integration. The goal of this initiative is to solve the business complexity efficiently and achieve a faster time to market. The initiative will further leverage the strength of mobility, subscription-based services, autonomous and electrification driving, notes the announcement.

Volvo and Digital Transformation Suppliers

HCL Technologies is the third vendor in recent months that Volvo has selected for their digital transformation initiatives.

In October, Capgemini also announced its agreement with Volvo Cars to digitally transform its operations. The agreement with Capgemini builds upon an existing relationship with Volvo Cars with a new three-year Master Services Agreement. Capgemini will also provide digital and cloud transformation services such as Product Orientation, DevOps and Cloud to Volvo Cars.

In September this year, Infosys was selected as a provider of the digital transformation services for the Volvo Cars. As a part of the agreement, Infosys will provide the next-gen applications services using it's Global Delivery Model (GDM), automation, agile delivery, and some other service optimization levers to deliver effective service operations.
