Baidu Provides XuperChain Blockchain to Industries in Hainan province,China
Baidu, the Chinese search engine giant, has announced that it is working with Hainan province with the adoption of blockchain technology.
In August 2018, Baidu established a blockchain subsidiary, called Dulian Internet Technology, in Hainan, Technode reported.
In Baidu's fourth quarter and fiscal year 2018 results, the company said that they have engaged with the Hainan province, China, to widen the adoption of blockchain and offered Baidu's blockchain technology, XuperChain to the industries in Hainan province.
Baidu is solving the challenges faced in the fields of information security, copyright verification, supply chain financing, online trading and other key areas which demand multi-party transactions in an untrusted and decentralized environment.
Baidu claimed that its blockchain network, XuperChain, exceeds the industry average of processing the blockchain transactions and capable of processing more than 55,000 transactions per second. XuperChain's copyright protection system stores and protects 93 million patents, as of December 2018.
Baidu also stated in the announcement that it is developing an electronic-evidence platform using XuperChain and working closely with Beijing Internet Court.
Recently, Baidu Cloud launched its Baidu Blockchain Engine, BBE to simplify the development of blockchain applications aka decentralized apps (DApps) as easy as developing mobile applications.
