Ledger Nano S now Supports Cardano's ADA Crypto and Yoroi Crypto Wallet

EMURGO announced full-scale integration of Cardano's ADA cryptocurrency with Ledger hardware wallet.

EMURGO is commercial and a venture arm of Cardano. The company is registered in Tokyo, Japan since June 2017 and in Singapore since May 2018. EMURGO strives to drive the adoption of Cardano.

Established in 2014, Ledger, a company behind well known Ledger Nano S hardware wallet for cryptocurrencies has sold around 1.5 million units built on enhanced state-of-the-art security and delivering improved user experience and design. In early 2018, Ledger raised €61 million in Series B round of funding from FirstMark Capital, Cathay Innovation, Korelya Capital, CapHorn Invest, GDTRE and Digital Currency Group led by Draper Esprit. Ledger Nano S is only certified hardware wallet receiving the CSPN certification.

In January 2019, Ledger launched its Bluetooth-enabled Ledger Nano X hardware wallet at CES 2019 conference at Las Vegas.

Ledger S  - Crypto Hardware Wallet Integration

To be specific, Ledger Nano S now supports Cardano's ADA. Thus allowing Cardano ADA holders to protect their private keys with Ledger's hardware wallets.

In addition, the announcement also noted that the Ledger Nano S also integrates with Yoroi wallet. EMURGO has developed Yoroi wallet.

Cardano foundation sponsored this project to develop the Cardano Ledger app and associated software libraries. Vacuum Labs and IOHK's development teams also supported this project.
