Executive Opinion
Head of the Crypto at Opera browsers, Charles Hamel, said, "I am happy to let you know that the award-winning Opera Touch browser for iOS now features crypto wallet integration and Web 3 support. This completes our efforts to offer Web 3-ready browsers with built-in Crypto Wallet on Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and now iOS. Opera Touch for iOS lets you seamlessly interact with the next generation of Web 3 applications on the Ethereum blockchain."He further added, "At Opera, we believe that all modern browsers should integrate a crypto wallet, simply because this will enable new business models to emerge on the Web. Opera was the first browser to make the use of crypto on the Web seamless and easy. Following a strong demand from the crypto-community, we are now making this experience available on iOS."
Crypto Wallet and Web 3 support
In March 2019 this year, Opera said in the announcement that they will bring support for Crypto wallets and web 3 technologies to Opera Touch for iOS. Opera already launched the Crypto Wallet support to Opera browser for Android in December 2018.Opera Touch for iOS with Crypto Wallet will support Ethereum Web3 API. This will make interacting with dApps (distributed applications) a seamless experience. There will not be any need for third-party browser extensions for crypto support in the browser. This further avoids unnecessary friction in cryptocurrency adoption among crypto users, notes the announcement.
Opera Touch can be downloaded from the Apple App store (on Apple devices). For Web 3 transactions there is a requirement of ETH tokens in the browser's crypto-wallet.
