Tech Mahindra and Qualcomm Collaborate to Offer 'Smart City' Solutions
Tech Mahindra recently signed a deal with the Qualcomm Technologies to provide smart city solutions across the globe.
Tech Mahindra as the system integration partner will be going to help the Qualcomm in establishing smart cities in Asia, according to the announcement.
In April this year, Qualcomm launched its Smart Cities Accelerator Program. The program aimed at connecting cities, municipalities, government agencies and enterprises with an ecosystem of providers offering Qualcomm Technologies’ technology-based solutions.
The members of the smart cities accelerator program include the software and hardware providers, system integrators, design & manufacturing companies, cloud solution providers as well as the companies offering end to end solution for the smart cities.

Tech Mahindra's and Smart Cities
Tech Mahindra will work as a system integrator and help roll out smart city solutions. The company already has an experience of setting up smart cities in Asia, the announcement notes. Some of the Smart City solution implementations include smart parking, smart energy management, smart street lighting, and smart automated meter reading.The announcement further notes that Tech Mahindra plans to leverage its digital transformation capabilities to smart city infrastructure areas like measuring and reducing energy usage across buildings, enhancing the citizen experience via smart mobility applications and preventing vandalism and theft.
Previously Tech Mahindra had even reported a rise in revenue of around 4% and a 7% rise in the net profit for the first quarter got ended in June.
Last month, the company had signed a deal with the Aakash Institute to offer digital infrastructure solution.
