Tech Mahindra opens 5G Development Center in Romania

Major IT Tech Company, Tech Mahindra, has set up its first development center in Timisoara, Romania.

The development center will leverage 5G technology for network transformation for their Europe based clients, says the announcement.

Tech Mahindra has 100 members team at the development center. The team manages different core, transmission network, and Radio Access Network operations.

Tech Mahindra, in the announcement, also noted that the company plans to use Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning (AI/ML) technologies to further automate ad transform network operations.

President, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Tech Mahindra, Vikram Nair, said, "With a booming IT sector, Timișoara is an important industrial, commercial and technology center in Romania. Tech Mahindra’s new development center here will serve as a hub for our European operations. It will further enable us to expand exponentially by riding the growth wave that the IT industry is set to witness in the next 3-5 years with the emergence of new technologies like 5G, Automation, and Artificial Intelligence."

The new development center is located in Vox Technology Park in Romania.

From the past few years, some of the major IT companies like Accenture, HP, IBM, and Infosys have started exploring the European regions, which include Romania, for talent.

Cognizant has also recently bought a Romanian software company Softvision in a deal for $500 million, according to the report.

Tech Mahindra earlier partnered with the Netherland based Quantoz, which is a blockchain-based solution provider, to provide the blockchain as a service for the secure digital payments.

In August, Tech Mahindra signed a deal with Qualcomm Technologies to provide smart city solutions across the globe.
