Tech Mahindra wins Smart City project from India based Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation
Tech Mahindra won a smart city project worth of INR 500 crore for the Pune region-based civic body Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).
This will be Tech Mahindra's fifth smart city project after the Kanpur, Nashik, Jaipur, Gandhinagar. PCMC is the largest smart city project; it has undertaken so far, notes the announcement.
Pimpri Chinchwad is an essential industrial belt in Maharashtra that comprises more than 6000 larger, medium and small business units which mainly from the automobile and engineering industries.
Tech Mahindra will offer the information and communication technology infrastructure to the project. The project will be executed over one year while operations and maintenance services that will take another five years said the announcement.

Tech Mahindra's Smart City project at PCMC
The project is budgeted under the Prime Minister Smart Cities Mission.Launched in the year 2015, Smart Cities Mission is the Government of India's urban renewal and retrofitting program. The goal of Smart Cities Mission is to develop 100 smart cities across the country, which makes them sustainable and citizen-friendly.
Under this agreement, the IT Company will help the corporation in its smart city transformation with the latest advanced technological solutions which include the smart water, parking, traffic, sewerage, city network, and environment, command center, surveillance, integrated control, CCTV, a disaster recovery center and data center.
Tech Mahindra will also help in enabling real-time data management, information processing, and alerts to support the city administration, notes the announcement.
