What is Cohesity's vision and core competency? 

Cohesity’s vision is to bring smartphone-like simplicity to data management. We solve a critical challenge facing businesses today: mass data fragmentation.

The vast majority of enterprise data — backups, archives, file shares, object stores, and data used for dev/test and analytics — sits in fragmented infrastructure silos that make it hard to protect, expensive to manage, and difficult to analyse.

We consolidate silos onto one web-scale platform, spanning on-premises, cloud, and the edge, and uniquely empower organisations to run apps on that platform — making it easier than ever to not only back up but extract insights from data.

What is the future blueprint of Cohesity's Pune office in India?

The Pune office is an important component of the global operations for the company. Our new 16,500 square foot centre – which is five times larger than our previous offices -- represents our commitment to the Pune market. We have plans to hire approximately 100 people in the next 18 months, nearly doubling our headcount at that location. We are excited about our growth plans in this market.

Employees in this facility will work on developing Cohesity’s leading software-defined data management solutions for customers who are focused on backing up, managing, protecting, storing, and extracting value from their data.

Would you like to name key customers of Cohesity in the India and Asia Pacific region?
Please name a few customers.

Unfortunately, we are unable to share customer names in India due to confidentiality clauses. However, we can tell you that we are focused on verticals that are managing massive volumes of data, including but not limited to financial services, public sector, technology, professional services (including consulting and legal), and healthcare. And we can also say that we are looking forward to building our customer base in India over the coming quarters.

Any significant deployment of Cohesity products/solutions in India resulted in a considerable benefit for your customer?

Customers in India and across the globe are relying on Cohesity’s modern data management solutions to solve a critical challenge facing customers today: mass data fragmentation. With mass data fragmentation, data is trapped in infrastructure silos – both in on-premises data centres and the cloud – which makes the data hard to backup, store, and manage. Customers often have little visibility into what data they have and if that data is properly backed up and protected.  With the Cohesity DataPlatform, customers solve this challenge by bringing these infrastructure silos together to manage everything from one dashboard. This software-defined solution also makes it a snap for customers to extract value from their data. Cohesity is seeing massive adoption of its products globally, as our software revenues globally have grown more than 100 percent year-over-year. We are excited to enable more companies in India to embrace our modern approach to data management.

Please share the expected growth forecast for India and Asia Pacific region for the year 2020?

Cohesity will continue to focus on delivering innovative solutions that make it simple for companies to back up, manage, protect, store and extract value from their data. We will continue to rapidly expand our presence globally. Today, we serve clients in more than 30 countries around the world.

Tell us more about the role of the Pune office in Cohesity's growth story?

Pune is a key product development center for Cohesity. Employees in this facility will develop the next wave of Cohesity’s leading software-defined data management solutions for customers focused on backing up, managing, protecting, storing, and extracting value from their data.

We are excited to expand our presence in Pune as the city is a center of excellence for talent focused on data management. There is a deep pool of people in the city with strong background in backup, storage, and data management solutions.

It makes sense for Cohesity to expand our product development center in an area where we can take advantage of this strong talent pool.
