Intel allocates $50 Million for AI, Cloud and High-Performance computing to fight Covid-19
Intel recently announces $50 Million for technological initiatives to fight Coronavirus Pandemic.
The latest funding includes $40 Million allocations for Intel COVID-19 Response and Readiness and Online Learning initiatives. The initiative will leverage artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing and edge-to-cloud service delivery for diagnosis, treatment and vaccine development.

Intel is committed to accelerating access to technology that can combat the current pandemic and enable new technology and scientific discovery that better prepares society for future crises. We hope that by sharing our expertise, resources and technology, we can help to accelerate work that saves lives and expands access to critical services around the world during this challenging time."Intel's other Initiatives
The Intel Online Learning Initiative will help students with devices and online learning resources. This will be done in close collaboration with education-focused nonprofit organizations and business partners.The company reserved another $10 million for an innovation fund. This fund will support external partners and employee-led relief projects to address critical needs in their communities.
Previously, the company pledged $10 million in donations to support local communities for 1 million gloves, masks and other equipment for healthcare workers.
Intel is also engaged with India’s Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad for inexpensive COVID-19 testing, coronavirus genome sequencing and AI-based risk stratification for patients with comorbidities, notes the announcement.
