FedEx, Microsoft signs strategic deal to transform Digital Logistics
FedEx, a delivery services company, has now signed a deal with Microsoft to provide digital logistics solutions to its customers.
As a first step of the strategic deal, both the companies have launched a supply chain solution, FedEx Surround, which will allow the shipment tracking and inventory management with the help of real-time analytics and artificial intelligence, noted the announcement.

Together with FedEx, we will apply the power of Azure, Dynamics 365, and their AI capabilities to this urgent need, building new commerce experiences that transform logistics for our mutual customers around the world."

With enhanced scanning and proprietary IoT technology, FedEx Surround collects multiple data points gathered. It further analyzes those data points using Microsoft’s broad suite of AI, machine learning, and analytics solutions.FedEx will also onboard Microsoft Intelligent cloud solutions with the Dynamic 365 and Azure to provide analytics and data solutions.
FedEx offers eCommerce, logistics and transportation services, and claims to have a network of around 220 countries. It, as of now, employs around five lacs, people.
