Founded in 2014, Keybase offers end to end encrypted chat, file sharing, and code hosting services based on a blockchain platform that can cleanly handle multiple devices per user, and large, dynamic teams. In 2015, Keybase has raised a total of $10.8M in funding over 1 round.
The Co-founder and developer of Keybase, Max Krohn, will lead Zoom's security engineering team and will be reporting directly to Eric S. Yuan, CEO of Zoom.

Executive Opinion

There are enterprise-scale communications platforms. We believe that no current platform offers all of these. This is what Zoom plans to build, giving our users security, ease of use, and scale, all at once. The first step is getting the right team together. Keybase brings deep encryption and security expertise to Zoom, and we’re thrilled to welcome Max and his team.
