Rasa Technologies secured $26 million in Series B Funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz

Rasa Technologies Inc, a California based open source conversational AI company, has now secured $26 million in Series B funding round.

Rasa Technologies is founded by Alex Weidauer. It uses NLP research, machine learning, and flexible infrastructure to enable developers to create text and voice-based assistants. The company solution is used by developers working in organizations of every size, which includes six of the top ten banks in the world.

Alex Weidauer, Rasa's CEO & co-founder, said, "A simplistic chatbot might be easy, but a resilient, fully contextual assistant that works is not. Rasa is committed to supporting the developer in creating robust, mission-critical bot applications, through better research, investment in open source software, superior developer tools, and education, and flexible on-prem or cloud deployment."

The funding round, which brought the total funding to $40 million, was backed by Andreessen Horowitz with participation from the Cultural Leadership Fund.

Some of the existing investors also joined the new funding round, which includes Mango Capital, Accel, Basis Set Ventures, and 468 Capital.

Post funding, Martin Casado, The Managing Partner at Andreessen Horowitz will now join Rasa Technologies, Board of Directors team.

The company, as of now, has plans to use the new funds to invest in continuing growth in their open-source and some other products, AI research, community education, and developer.
