Volvo Car Group join hands with Self Driving tech company, Waymo

Volvo Car Group has partnered with self-driving technology provider Waymo.

Self-driving and autonomous vehicles are the latest trends in the auto industry. Artificial Intelligence, machine learning are some of the key factors driving innovations in self-driving cars. 

Waymo One is one of the first public self-driving ride-hailing services. It is actively serving in the US state of Arizona. Different vehicle platforms, goods delivery platforms like Waymo Via and other business applications are leveraging Waymo Driver.

Waymo self-driving technology stack is called as "Waymo Driver". Both companies will work towards the integration of the Waymo Driver with an all-new mobility-focused electric vehicle platform for ride-hailing services.

Waymo will be an exclusive L4 (SAE International autonomous drive technology) partner for Volvo Car Group, notes the announcement.

Volvo Car Group's strategic affiliates Polestar and Lynk & Co. International is also participating in the Waymo's partnerships.
