AI Chip maker Untether AI secured additional $7 million in Funding

Untether AI, a Canada based AI chip maker, has now secured an additional $7 million in the funding round.

Untether AI is founded by the Arun Iyengar. It has developed a new chip, which combines memory computation with digital processing to enable new frontiers in AI applications.

Apart from that company has also added two senior executives to its senior-level management team, Alex Grbic, Ph.D. as VP of Software Engineering, and Robert Beachler as VP of Product.

Arun Iyengar, President, and CEO of Untether AI, said, "The continued support of our investors signifies the strength of our technology and progress towards production. This funding enables us to go to market this year with our groundbreaking AI chip."

Tomi Poutanen, the co-founder of Radical Ventures and board member of Untether AI, said, "Untether is delivering a powerful AI chip capable of supporting the next generation of AI computing. To be able to execute on a design of this complexity is a testament to the strength of the Untether AI team."

The round was backed by the Radical Ventures with participation from the Intel Capital.

The company's AI chip removes data movement bottlenecks with its chip architecture for neural net inference. The architecture is energy efficient and highly performant, notes the announcement.

Untether AI plans to use the new funds to produce its AI chips and to enable new frontiers in AI applications.
