Ellicott City based Endpoint security startup Huntress secured $40 Million funding
Huntress, an Ellicott city based provider of managed detection and response (MDR) with human-powered threat hunting, has recently secured $40 million in a Series B funding round.
Huntress is founded by Kyle Hanslovan. The cyber security startup helps enterprises to identify attackers who have bypassed some of the preventive tools and are hiding within exposed IT environments. By combining with a Software-as-a-Service platform with a highly skilled ThreatOps team, the Huntress' solution finds and helps stop attacks while reducing the cost and complexity barriers.
Executive Opinion
Kyle Hanslovan, founder and CEO at Huntress, said, "Until small businesses and mid-market firms can improve their security posture, they’ll remain prime targets for attackers. We’re seeing evidence of that every day—in large-scale efforts like the exploitation of Exchange servers, and via the constant barrage of ‘normal’ malicious tactics hackers use to infiltrate businesses that are unprepared to launch a counter-response."
Suken Vakil, General Partner at JMI, said, "We’re thrilled to partner with Huntress to deliver comprehensive cybersecurity services to a massive and largely underserved market of SMBs. Their team’s commitment to protecting, educating, and enabling these organizations that are being actively exploited is second to none. We’re excited to be in a position to help Huntress achieve its goals and deliver more value to its customers."
Huntress' Latest Funding
The JMI Equity led the latest funding round. Other participating investors include Gula Tech Aventures and ForgePoint Capital who improvising their existing funding in the security startup.
The Huntress cybersecurity platform caters to the requirements of managed service providers (MSPs) and value-added resellers (VARs) that
deliver security services to small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs).
The company, as of now, has plans to use the new funds to continue expanding its cybersecurity platform. The cybersecurity company also intends to enable its partners to manage preventive solutions like antivirus and firewalls, notes the announcement. The latest funding round will help security firm to become the go-to cybersecurity platform for SMBs.
Recently, the security firm also acquired San Antonio-based network-aware endpoint detection and response (EDR) technology startup Level Effect.
