Tel Aviv based DevOps security platform, Cycode secured $20 Million
Cycode, a Tel Aviv based startup securing DevOps pipelines, has now secured $20 million in a Series A funding round.
Cycode is founded by Lior Levy. The Tel Aviv, Israel based startup protects the DevOps tools which include the source control management systems, registries, build systems, and cloud infrastructure. The solution addresses multiple layers of security, which include authorization and access, scanning engines, compliance, and security configurations.
The DevOps security platform even enables customers to identify code tampering, hardcoded secrets, code leakage, and misconfigurations in infrastructure as a code, excess privileges, and more, all from a single platform. The company has also noted a few of its customers including Databricks, Copart, Rapyd, Flexport, and Grubhub.
DevOps is a development practice that automates processes between software development and information technology or release team operations. DevOps practices help in accelerating the software release life cycle required for deploying updates, features, and patches/fixes, or even releasing new major software versions.
The DevSecOps is an integration of security practices in DevOps. DevSecOps stands for Development, Security, and Operations in the software development lifecycle. According Verified Market Research report, the global DevSecOps market is expected to grow $17.16 billion by 2027.
Executive Opinion
Jon Rosenbaum, principal at Insight Partners, who will join Cycode’s board of directors, said, "The problem of protecting CI/CD tools like GitHub, Jenkins and AWS is a gap for virtually every enterprise. Cycode secures CI/CD pipelines in an elegant, developer-centric manner. This positions the company to be a leader within the new breed of application security companies -- those that are rapidly expanding the market with solutions which secure every release without sacrificing velocity."
Lior Levy, CEO and co-founder of DevOps Security platform startup, Cycode, said, "With these new funds, part of the focus will naturally be on expanding sales and marketing efforts. What I’m really excited about is expanding Cycode’s platform with even more integrations into CI/CD and security tools to increase the power of our knowledge graph. Furthermore, we’re releasing a low-code query engine and a knowledge-sharing community that will enable security teams without development expertise to leverage the full power of the graph."
Cycode's Latest Funding
The Insight Partners led the latest funding round for DevOps security provider Cycode. Other participating investors include the seed investors YL Ventures. The latest funding rounds brought the total investment for the DevOps security startup to $25 million.
Post funding, Jon Rosenbaum, the principal manager at Insight Partners, will join the Cycode’s Board of Directors team.
The DevOps security company intends to leverage newly raised funds to accelerate growth, expand sales and marketing efforts, note the announcement.
