CtrlS datacenters have laid the foundation of its third hyperscale data center in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
The new data center named CtrlS Gachibowli DC2, when completed, will be spread across 131000 square feet and will be equipped with 1600 racks, backed by 18MW electricity.
Executive Opinion
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Green Man of Indian Data Center Industry, Founder and CEO of CtrlS, said, "It gives me immense pleasure to add the third (rated-4) hyperscale data centre in Hyderabad. As we commence the construction of this facility, we are sowing the seeds for new employment opportunities and the ability to help the expansion of global multinationals and Indian businesses into the city of Hyderabad for their colocation or disaster recovery needs. The data centre will be environmental-friendly with rain harvesting, water conservation and recycling capabilities, efficient e-waste management, and maximized elimination of paper and plastic. The construction will be as per LEED Platinum standards defined by the US Green Building Council, and Rated-4 standards as defined by TIA-942".
The CtrlS' Latest Data Center
The term hyper-scale refers to the business and large critical facilities that are usually associated with the big data engineering companies such as the likes of IBM, Microsoft, Google, Facebook, among others.
Hyderabad has been chosen for this data center, as it is a preferred destination for disaster recovery storage, given it falls under the seismic zone II, which puts it under the low-risk category for earthquake.
Some of the large organizations that have their data centers in Hyderabad include the ICICI Bank, Bombay Stock Exchange, Flipkart, Amazon, among others.
CtrlS said that the infrastructure of the city, good power supply, IT resources and an industry-friendly data center policy were the major reasons to open the data center in the city.
