MG Motors India launches a Metaverse Platform – MG verse
After Toyota and Nissan, now MG Motors has entered into the metaverse space with a virtual experience platform known as MGverse.
Here customers will be provided with a virtual car buying experience with assistance from a 3D avatar. They can also buy NFT and play racing games in separate zones within the MG Verse. Going forward, customers will be able to take virtual test drives in remote locations.
Executive Opinion
Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer MG Motor India, said, "Digital technologies have advanced faster than any other innovation in human history. MGverse is a step forward where users can interact with visualized data, just like in the real world. At MG, we strive to provide our customers with immersive experiences at every touchpoint. MGverse is our vision for creating our Metaverse, in which our partners and we will constantly explore, innovate, improvise, and develop new solutions to consistently enhance the customer experience in the future. This initiative will help us further strengthen our relationship with GenZ and Gen Alpha. With MGverse, we will build upon our virtual customer experience content to familiarize the future generation with innovative brand experiences."
The MGVerse
NFT shopping will be available under the NFT gallery. Moreover, the option to play racing games will be available under the Gaming Arena.
There will also be a Car Club Zone where users can visit a car museum and connect with others. MG Verse will also have a knowledge center where employees and partners will be given different opportunities to upskill and attend any of the virtual training sessions.
As per the MG, the platform is being built zone by zone and will be ready to provide a virtual experience to customers by the festive season this year.
The company also revealed that it has entered into select collaborations to drive experience in the MGVerse.
MG was one of the first auto companies to launch its NFT collection. MG used the Indian Web3 startup Koinearth NgageN platform to let collectors buy NFTs using fiat money instead of restricting them to buy only via cryptocurrencies, as is the case with most NFTs.
