Blockchain Discovery Engine startup Thirdwave secured $7 Million in Seed Funding

Thirdwave, a fully remote blockchain discovery engine company that provides business data and analytics to gaming teams, has now secured $7 million in a seed funding round.

Thirdwave is founded by Peter Jonas and Matt Lorenzen. It is a blockchain discovery engine focused on providing business data and insights to enable game developers, and web3 builders to understand, find, and retail customers. The company intends to scale and expand data features, which will further shape the level of insights customers have access to, such as more sophisticated on-chain analytics, data web integrations, deep community, project-specific dashboards, and benchmarking tools.

Michael Anderson, partner and the co-founder at Framework, said, "Today’s web3 developers don’t have access to meaningful customer data insights, which in turn creates major inefficiencies in the building process. With their past experience building and scaling data discovery engines for consumer giants like Facebook, we think Thirdwave is positioned to give web3 projects, especially in the gamefi space, the ability to truly understand their users."

The round was backed by Framework Ventures with participation from Play Ventures, Animoca Brands, Ocean Ventures, Hustle Fund, and Shima Capital.

The company, as of now, has plans to use the new funds to expand its team and build out key major elements of its discovery engine.
